Automation is an important step in your financial system. I think setting up a system such that you can eventually forget about it and afford you some peace of mind knowing that everything is taken care of is great luxury to have.

you want to take time to connect all your checking/savings/investment account so when you get paid, the right amount of money is automatically transferred to savings, credit card bills are paid and money is put into investments. these automations should be setup for the days that you get paid

moving money into savings

The best way to set this up is through the source of your money, checking account. You click the “Pay & transfer” tab on the top and then “Transfer money”.

  1. choose to transfer from your checking account, into your savings account
  2. set the amount
  3. transfer date
  4. set “repeating transfers” to ON.
  5. set the frequency
    1. i get paid on the 15th and 30th so that is my frequency

set up automatic payments on all your credit cards. same idea here.

how to do it on chase

  1. click to pay & transfer tab and then “pay bills & send money with zelle”
  2. under “chase accounts” click the three dots on the card and then “manage automatic payments”
